Introducing: The Thrift List
My top thrifting finds of the week—what made the cut and why I love it.
When I manage to find spare time—which, as a small business owner, is rare—you’ll likely find me poking around a thrift store. It’s one of my favourite ways to spend time, and over the years, it’s grown into a full-blown obsession. It’s a hobby I always make room for, whether it’s a quick stop or a long, indulgent browse, because in my opinion, there’s no better way to spend a few hours alone.
I gravitate toward a few categories: leather footwear, knitwear, wool coats and leather jackets. My closet is a love letter to natural materials—I don’t thrift anything else. Over the years, I’ve built a very serious collection of cashmere sweaters, wool and leather coats, and the kind of Italian made leather shoes that feel like they could outlast me.
The Thrift List is my weekly series where I share my favorite finds from my recent poke-arounds, guided by my appreciation for craftsmanship and longevity. This series is where I’ll share my favourite finds, and a little insight into why they caught my eye.
So, if you love a great secondhand find or want to see what I’m adding to my ever-growing collection, welcome to The Thrift List. Let’s talk cashmere, leather, and the hunt for timeless pieces.
As a knitter, something at this gauge is definitely within my wheelhouse. But the contrast whip-stitch at the edge? The weight? The turtleneck? And, of course… SANDRO. I couldn’t leave it behind. It immediately took me back to Copenhagen in 2012, where I spotted a very cool girl rocking a dickie just like this—I’ve never forgotten it.
There’s something so intriguingly unique yet old-school about a dickie. I love the way it confuses people while still pulling an outfit together. Can’t wait to style this one.
Ummmmmmmmmmm……….. Where do I even start with this shoe? The silhouette, the craftsmanship, the timelessness—it’s genuinely hard to overstate. As a denim designer, longevity is the ultimate goal, and G.H. Bass is the blueprint. These shoes don’t just hold up; they thrive. They’ll outlast all of us, gaining character with every step, and somehow still manage to look effortlessly on-trend.
This is an incredible score.
Barely worn. Two-ply cashmere. Perfect fit. Taupey-greige perfection. That’s it. That’s the post.
